How a trade runs
Five steps. The money never belongs to either party until the last one — and every movement lands on an auditable ledger.
List what you have, with photos and an honest condition grade.
New / Like new / Good / Fair. SwapR Assist scores your draft 0–100 while you type — clarity, photos, price sanity.
Accept a buy offer or a swap offer, including any cash top-up.
Sell outright, trade item for item, or close the gap with cash when the two things aren't worth the same. Either side can counter.
The buyer funds escrow — the money is held, and neither side can touch it.
Available → held, atomically, with a ledger row carrying the balances after. Cancel before funding is always free; after funding, the hold unwinds back to the buyer.
Both sides send. Delivery is confirmed with proof.
Each side marks their item as sent — on swaps, both must be in the post before release is even possible. Tracking notes ride on the order.
Escrow releases to the seller, and both sides rate each other.
A 2.5% platform fee is retained at release; the rest is one payout posting. Ratings can only be attached to a RELEASED order — earned, never assigned.
When something goes wrong
Either side opens a dispute and escrow stays frozen. Both parties post evidence on the order's message trail; a staff ruling — always with a written note — releases to the seller or refunds the buyer. The conceding party can also settle directly: the buyer can concede release, the seller can concede refund.
The money model, in one breath
| Event | Debit | Credit |
|---|---|---|
| Deposit | CASH | MEMBER_AVAILABLE |
| Escrow hold | MEMBER_AVAILABLE | MEMBER_HELD |
| Release | MEMBER_HELD (buyer) | MEMBER_AVAILABLE (seller) + REVENUE_FEE |
| Refund / cancel | MEMBER_HELD | MEMBER_AVAILABLE (buyer) |
Integer cents, no floats. Debits equal credits on every entry. A reference can only move money once — a double-clicked release fails on a unique index instead of paying twice.
